Working as a Support Worker

Commitment to care is the most important value that our Total Support Services Support Staff hold - a true dedication to supporting people in living as independently as possible. This commitment can grow from a range of life experiences, sometimes simply through witnessing for yourself the positive impact a Support Worker’s care has had in a friend or relative’s life.

Regardless of what has inspired you, if you’re looking to turn your commitment into a career, consider becoming a member of the Total Support Services Team. While a commitment to care is at the core of the job, great communication skills, empathy and respect for people of all backgrounds are among the other qualities a Total Support Workers Support Workers must possess.

At Total Support Services we match all of our Support Workers with our clients through a rigorous interview process. This ensures that our clients are provided with a support worker they are happy to have in their own home, and one who has the right skills to manage the needs and choices of the client.

All our Support Workers are rostered into teams around each individual client, although it must be noted that each client has the right to make their own choices. We have all our Support Workers meet with the client before they embark on any shifts.
