Every one of our staff undergoes medication training and competency assessment, training in infection control and safe food handling as part of the induction process. Furthermore, all support workers are expected to maintain qualifications in manual handling and first aid.

Requirements for Working as a Support Worker
The minimum requirement for employment with our company is:
Certificate III in Disability, or a minimum of three years experience in the field;
Previous experience in working with People with Disabilities;
A current ‘C’ class driver’s license;
A current DCSI working with children clearance;
A current Certificate in First Aid, and;
A current certificate in Manual Handling.
If you meet these requirements, upon providing us with a C.V. including proof of all of the above, you will then be invited to participate in a personal telephone interview with one of our Team Members.
From here, should you pass our strict criteria you will be asked to attend a face-to-face interview at our office, and if you are successful at this second interview, we will complete a series of additional reference checks.
You will then be asked to attend our formal training and induction session, through which we will ensure that you are well versed in our stringent policies and procedures.
You will then become a member of our amazing team!
At Total Support Services we match all of our Support Workers with our clients through a rigorous interview process. This ensures that our clients are provided with a support worker they are happy to have in their own home, and one who has the right skills to manage the needs and choices of the client.
All our Support Workers are rostered into teams around each individual client, although it must be noted that each client has the right to make their own choices. We have all our Support Workers meet with the client before they embark on any shifts. If suited, the Support Worker is then provided with the client’s support plan, and will be set a roster to work with that client.
